1. Quick
facts about you guys….. Who’s who in the band and whatever?

Ken
: I’m Kenhensly Racho, I play Guitar / Vocals,
taking up Fine Arts, Graphics and Media. Drawing and Painting is what I do
during my spare time.

Rhan: Hi I am Jerand Ybanez, The Drummer, taking
up Information Technology; I play DOTA at GG-Client or LAN. You can catch me
online every weekend. [Ha-ha]

Chan: Hi I’m Christian Saoh Thwaites, I do Bass, and
sometimes do back-up vocals, planning to take up flying lessons, I live at Rama
Compound and I play DOTA in ZION MIRC, and and I dont do harvat. [Ha-ha]

Bryan: I’m
Bryan Mayuela, and I play Guitar, I’m majoring in multimedia. I’m also
interested in Basketball, Skateboard and Billiards.

2. I heard you
had quite a very controversial "start" as a band… tell me or
rather…tell US about it. How did ASL start?

[Ken and Chan
giggles]

[Rhan
wondering]

Rhan: Nganu man toh?

Chan: Well basically, Ken, Rhan and I were already
close friends but we had different bands, and unfortunately, we got kicked out.

Ken: Which we do not know why.

[Giggles]

Chan: and and after a few days, I got a text from
Ken and he texted me if, we could make our own band, and also he told me that
Rhan was also kicked out from he’s band. So, early that August, we decide to
form a band, and we started “NOT“ quite good and realized that we were one man
short, and that is when Bryan here,

Bryan: Actually,
Rhan and I were close childhood friends, and that time, he invited me to make a
band, so I was like, “Okay“. So that is how we started.

Chan: Yahoo!

3. What do you
guys call your music? Most people call it EMO… Do you mind?

Ken
: Well, we started out as an “EMO” band, since
we were pretty much influence in a lot of Emo group around those times that we
were starting. And as time goes by, we manage to create our own sound. And if people
call it Emo, then its okay, they can call us whatever they want. [Smiles]

4. ASL has
just been ’round for a few months but it has already gained quite a
following… you guys got lotsa fans now… so… how do you deal with the…Ehem…."growing
fame"? Does it affect you and how u guys play? Does it pressure you? In
any way…

Bryan
: Somehow, the thing is, they motivate us to do
better and continue making good music, they’re our motivation and our drive,
and we are humbled that people accepted us and our music despite of being newbie’s.

Rhan: No, They don’t pressure us, they inspire us.
[Smiles]

Chan: and actually, for me, I don’t consider them
as “Fans” but as “Friends” really really good friends, coz they really
supported us since day 1, since ASL started and until now, they really showed
their love for us, and I’m really proud for them, and were really happy for
that. [Smiles]

ALL: Thank
You.

—————————————————————————————————

Rhan: HAMAG NA KAAYU NA OH!!
5. Do u
have haters? If yes, how do you deal with them?

[Rhan, full
of confidence
]
Rhan: OF COURSE WE DO, WE CANNOT PLEASE EVERYBODY.

[Moment of silence]

Ken, Chan,
Bryan:

BWAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAH

Bryan: KAYASA,
nyahahaaaaaa
Chan:  BATIA! ROFL
Ken:    bwahahahhahahaa

[All paused
/ breathed deep
]

Chan: Yes we have, but we still approached them in
a nicest way as we can, and we sometimes give them “Thanks” for giving us
constructive criticism. [Smiles]

—————————————————————————————————

6. Influences…

Bryan: We
are of different influences, and because of that, at first, we quite had a hard
time making music together and jiving with each other, but eventually we were
able to work things out.

Ken: Like me, I’m more into pop/rock/emo.
Rhan: I’m more into progressive rock.
Chan: I’m in emo/rock/electronica beats.

Bryan: For
me, I’m in classical/jazz/blues and sounds like that.

Rhan: OKAY!
Chan: TABLEYA!
Ken:   PAPI!

[Guitar
strums / laughing
]

parents mind….about you being in a band?

Ken
: No, they don’t really mind, in fact they
even support us.

Chan: and by this, to what we are doing, we want
them to be proud. [Smiles]

9. What have
you got to say for those other kids who dig you guys?

Chan: [asking everybody] do we have?? Ha-ha, I didn’t
know that, WOW!

Rhan:  Me either, ha-ha

Chan: If we have one, well, it’s really a pleasure
for us and and such a wonderful privilege to be able to inspire other
musicians, and were all grateful for them, for giving us credits by liking our
music. I know, those guys are really really amazing, if it wasn’t for them, ASL
would never exist. [Smiles] THANKS!
